Live in Lake Arrowhead

About Live in Lake Arrowhead

Hi, I’m Jill, a Lake Arrowhead homeowner and the voice behind this site.

I moved here from Los Angeles in 2017, and like a lot of people who make the jump from city life to the mountain, I had no idea how much I didn’t know. I learned quickly. I’ve navigated snowstorms that closed the roads for days, sat through power outages, prepped for fire evacuations, and come out the other side still genuinely loving it here.

That’s what this site is about: not the highlight reel, but the real picture.

I created Live in Lake Arrowhead because the practical information I needed as a new resident was scattered, tourist-focused, or just plain missing. What are utilities actually like? What do you do when the power goes out? What’s it really like to drive mountain roads in February? I answer those questions here, from the perspective of someone who lives it.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me hiking the local trails, doing ceramics, or reading by the fire. Lake Arrowhead has a way of getting into you, and this site exists to help others figure out if it’s right for them, and to support those already lucky enough to call it home.
